Designer: Hopping Kovach Grinnell

Tapestry is a Retirement Home like no other incorporating 17,000 square feet of high gloss paneling, most of it twelve feet high with a high gloss finish, Spa, Restaurant, Pub and corridor finishes worthy of a high end hotel. The ground floor’s paneling uses three-foot by three-foot panels with three-foot by nine-foot doors seamlessly incorporated into the design. Artek was able to work with the drywall trades to frame to our requirements that allowed the doors to blend in to our paneling on the corridor side and the painted drywall on the office side.

The original wood specified was eastern white maple with a slight tint. Our veneer lay-up department was unable to find veneer that was good enough for the project (due to the height and volume) so we worked with the design authority to get a substitute, English Sycamor. As we source and press our own veneer we were able to show the designers the exact veneer that would be used for their approval, and they were very happy with the results.
